从唐朝到1919年《圣经》和合本的出版，传教士译者一直在为顺应中国的文化语境而寻找恰当的《圣经》汉译经典化途径，其翻译策略经历了全盘汉化、话语独立化和适度“道儒化”三个阶段。作为《圣经》汉译的权威译本，《圣经》和合本是传教士译者们经典化努力的结果，其成功的关键在于译者权威化、文化和合化和译本文学化三个方面的合力。

From Tang Dynasty to the publication of Union Version of Bible in 1919, missionaries were in pursuit of proper methods to canonize Chinese Bible for the sake of adapting to the Chinese cultural context. This pursuit underwent three stages, i.e. totally Chinesization, linguistic independence, and proper adaptation to Taoism and Confucianism. As an authoritative version, Union version resulted from the persistent pursuit of missionaries’ canonization in translating Bible into Chinese. The success of Union Version mainly rests upon cooperation of the authority of translators, fusion of cultures and literariness of the text.
