由于近年来柑橘外销困难，种植效益下降，果农增收困难，为了充分利用宜昌市丰富的柑橘林下空闲地，积极开展了将魔芋从高海拔地区（高山）引种到低海拔地区（丘陵平原）柑橘林下试验种植。结果表明：这种种植模式提高了土地复种指数，又促进了农民增收，取得了初步成效。
유우근년래감귤외소곤난，충식효익하강，과농증수곤난，위료충분이용의창시봉부적감귤림하공한지，적겁개전료장마우종고해발지구（고산）인충도저해발지구（구릉평원）감귤림하시험충식。결과표명：저충충식모식제고료토지복충지수，우촉진료농민증수，취득료초보성효。
Due to the difficulties in citrus selling in recent years,growing profits decrease,fruit growers’incomes was added receive difficulty.In order to make full use of rich citrus forests of Yichang leisure area,it actively carried out the introduction experiment of konjac from high altitude(mountain)to the low altitude (hilly plain). The results showed that it could not only improve the land multiple cropping index,but also promote the farmersincome,achieved initial success.
