    The paper firstly analyzes the separation mechanism and characteristics of Reverse Osmosis ( RO ) membrane and the main factors that influence membrane’ s performance. Furthermore, the application of reverse osmosis system is ana-lyzed and evaluated. Accordingly, prospects of its development and application is put forward.
