Located in the northwest of Hebei Province, the dam area in Zhangjiakou is featured with complex hydrogeologi-cal conditions, wide distribution of carbonate rocks and rich karstic groundwater. By analyzing influence of thickness, litholo-gy, lithological association, distribution, geological structure and geological conditions of karstic formations on the enrichment regularity of karstic water, this paper figures out the significance of karstic water in this region for water supply.
