A bistable upper-lower locating device for the work piece was introduced. The se-lection and calculation of main mechanical parameters such as the mass of balance ham-mer, the angle of swing arm and the mass of pendulum bob were made. The key design points and precautions for use of main components structure such as the support compo-nent, balance hammer and pendulum bob were discussed. The locating device used the chain drive.
