This paper provides discussion for the principle of CAN bus technology in the application of automobile instruments.In order to meet the functionality,appearance and layout requirements for the new generation of G series truck crane instruments,it adopts CAN and RS232 serial interface dual bus communication technology,which not only realizes information sharing,but also reduces the bus implementation cost.The unique discrete instrument layout brings the flexible instrument desk and instrument maintenance conveniences;Stepping motor drive and liquid crystal display are taken advantage to achieve the digital indicator,improve precision of the instructions and ensure the consistency of the instruments.According to the feedback in the actual application of CAN bus instrument,the requirements of the new generation of G series truck crane is fully satisfied,also at the same time,the upgrading of the Trunk Crane instruments is succeeded.
