越来越多的青少年应用微信朋友圈,“栖息”其间,表达和建构线上自我。在Goffman戏剧论的框架下,半结构化的深入访谈研究表明,朋友圈是青少年自我探索的理想场域,在友伴和自己的“观看”下,青少年感知到自我的延伸,表现出“真实的理想自我”。线上的自我探索对青少年的线下生活也往往产生增强效应,从而加剧了其原本的实验性和复杂性。由此引发的教育、健康、法律等相关的议题也亟待跨学科视角的进一步深入研究。

Adolescents are now flocking into Wechat and express or construct their online selves in and through the Friend Circle. Based on Goffmanian dramaturgical theory, this study demonstrates that Friend Circle is the ideal performative field for adolescents ’ self-exploration. Their online selves are essentially their“authentic ideal selves” which mainly conditioned by the “watch” from the audiences as well as from themselves. Moreover, adolescents’ online self-exploration in the Friend Circle inevitably exerts empowering influence to their offline life. It leads their adolescence, as a transitional stage, to be more experimental and complex which will give rise to a variety of problems that appeal to more in-depth study from multiple disciplines.
