The patch clamp technique is commonly used in electrophysiological experiments and offers direct insight into ion channel properties through the characterization of ion channel activity. Glass microelectrodes are widely used in patch clamp technique. This article reviews the various considerations that inlfuence success of pulling glass microelectrodes. This article also provides some reference for the preparation of microelectrode in patch clamp technique.
