在传统写作中，教师更多注重培养学生的文章组织结构及语言表达能力，而随着社会信息化水平的不断提高，多模态话语逐渐被现代社会的人们有效应用。首先介绍多模态话语分析理论的内容与研究现状，接着描述其在英语写作课堂教学中的应用，以期改善英语写作课堂效果。

Multi-modal discourses, such as pictures, sounds, are widely applied in modern society. How to interpret and utilize the multi-modal discourses in various ifelds has come into focus. This paper ifrstly introduces the origin and development of multi-modal discourse theory, and then describes its application in English writing teaching class in an attempt to improve students’ writing skill.
