唐山以煤而建、以钢而兴，是一座典型的资源型城市。作为近现代重工业城市中佼佼者，唐山在煤炭、钢铁等领域为社会发展做出了巨大贡献，同时也在发展过程中积累了很多矛盾和问题，在新一轮的产业结构调整转型中面临更加严峻的挑战。创新是实现城市转型升级的关键，而创新文化的培养则是保持创新持久动力的核心。唐山因其自身发展特点和历史因素影响，创新文化发展尚处于起步阶段，其创新文化的培养可以从革新思维方式、改善创新制度环境和物质条件等层面着手推进。

Tangshan is a typical resource-based city ,it is based on coal and famous for steel .As a leader in the mod-ern industrial cities ,Tangshan has made tremendous contributions for the social development in the fields of coal and steel .Meanwhile ,a lot of contradictions and problems has also been accumulated which is facing much serious challenge in the new round industrial transition .Innovation is the key to achieve the transformation and city upgra-ding and the cultivate a culture of innovation is the core of lasting power to keep innovation .Because of its own characteristics and historical factors ,the innovation culture in Tangshan is still at the beginning step which can be improved through changing ways of thinking ,improving the innovation environment and material ,etc to proceed for-ward.
