Aiming at the cable heating around the SVC reactor of Sichuan Shifang 500 kV Substation,a field test is carried out. The related specifications and design schemes are rechecked and the causes analyzed. According to the simulation calculation and verification test of the electromagnetic field, some improvement measures and precautions for the design of SVC are put forward in the this paper,which can be used as a reference for the designers in the future.
