National geographic conditions monitoring is the first time for China to analyze,study and describe national conditions from the view of geography,which plays an important role in the transformation and upgrading of surveying,mapping and geoinformation industry.Thus to distinguish the relations between the national geographic conditions monitoring and the fundamental surveying and mapping is the important prerequisite in the current job.This article analyses the relations and differences between the two,which provides guarantees for the implementation of national geographical condition monitoring from the ideological understanding.
