In this paper, some methods and current development of Vehicle Classification in China have been de-scribed . The Pattern Recognition technology Vehicle Classification system based on real-time processing of High-definition Video Recognition has been proposed, with a correct rate for Vehicle Classification above 95%. This system has the characteristics of high reliability, good real-time, low cost and easy maintenance, which will make it wide for future application.
