Combined with the topographical and geological conditions as well as the actual situation of Dapein(I) Hydropower Project in Myanmar,an introduction was made on the layout,type selection and calculation of surge tanks. The surge tanks have been safe and stable since they were put into operation,which effectively alleviates the water hammer influence caused by power load variation,so as to ensure the safety and stable operation of project.
