位于城市中心的大遗址不仅面临遗产保护的重任，同时面对遗址区社会、经济各项事业发展的要求，传统“单点保护”模式在快速城市化的冲击下已不能适应遗址“真实性、完整性”保护的要求，西安市在大明宫遗址保护中探索“整体保护、积极利用”的大遗址保护模式，将大遗址保护与城市整体发展相结合，为城市中心型大遗址保护提供了新经验。
위우성시중심적대유지불부면림유산보호적중임，동시면대유지구사회、경제각항사업발전적요구，전통“단점보호”모식재쾌속성시화적충격하이불능괄응유지“진실성、완정성”보호적요구，서안시재대명궁유지보호중탐색“정체보호、적겁이용”적대유지보호모식，장대유지보호여성시정체발전상결합，위성시중심형대유지보호제공료신경험。
Large sites located in the center of the city are not only faced with the important task of heritage protection, but also faced with various undertakings of social and economic development in the ruins areas. The traditional"single point of protection"model under the impact of the rapid urbanization has not been able to adapt to the sites’ the requirements of the protection--"authenticity, integrity". The exploration in the Daming palace ruins protection in Xi’an, actively using‘site protected mode, the big ruins protection combined with the city's overal development’, creates the new experience of great sites protection of city center.
