作为道家文化的代表典籍，《道德经》内容丰富，语言优美，蕴含着深刻的哲学思想，国内外学者从多角度展开了研究。翻译作为一种跨语言的文化交流活动，由于宗教信仰、语言文字以及认知方式等差异，对同一作品的理解和翻译效果往往相距甚远。文章从跨文化交际的角度探讨《道德经》四种英文译本的翻译和文化差异的内在关联性，纠正以往翻译过程中出现的误读误译，廓清对《道德经》认识上的不足，促进中国文化的向外传播。

Tao Te Ching, with its rich contents, elegant language and profound philosophiccal thoughts, has been studied by schol-ars from different point of views. Translation as an intercultural communication activity, always presents different understanding and effect of the same source text because of translators’different religious belief, languages and cognitive style. From the perspec-tive of intercultural communication, it analyzes the relevance between cultural differences based on four English versions of Tao Te Ching. This study also corrects the misreading caused by false translation,and clarify the insufficient understanding of Tao Te Ch-ing to promote the transmission of Chinese culture.
