关于生，存在主义的观点是人的存在就是意志的存在。关于死，萨特认为那些因为不能改变的看法和行为而烦恼不安的人就是活死人。从存在主义的观点出发，探讨了《法国中尉的女人》中主人公萨拉与查尔斯生的存在表现为超越传统，绝对执行了自己的意志。他们死的存在表现为肉体存在，但形象扭曲，精神瘫痪，虽生犹死。

As to living ,philosophers of existentialism hold that the existence of human being is the existence of his will .As to death ,Satre considers those who are annoyed by inflexible views and behaviors are the living dead .This essay explores from the perspective of existentialism :the existence of heroes in the French Lieutenant’s Woman is portrayed in the way that they ignore the tradition and absolutely carry out their own will .At this moment ,they are living beings .At the same time ,the existence of death is displayed as while they live physically ,their images are being distorted ,their spirits are paralyzed and they are leading a dead living .
