构建城市竞争力多指标体系，从空间分布视角，对长江中游城市群城市竞争力的结构演变进行定量分析，发现：（1）长江中游城市群城市竞争力空间格局整体呈三大“核心（一主两副）-边缘”板块结构，且保持时间惯性和空间惰性，时空演变呈“总体锁定，局部变动”特征；（2）长江中游城市群竞争力分布具有总体格局的均衡性、空间分异的规律性和内部竞争结构的异质性；（3）5个主因子空间分异显著，仅第一主因子与综合竞争力空间耦合良好，第一、第三主因子重心迁移轨迹趋向几何中心“均衡点位”。

The emergence of urban agglomeration is the inevitable result of the evolution of urban system spatial structure developing from growth pole model to point-axis mode to network development model. And now urban agglomeration became the forefront of a country to integrate global competition system. In this paper, by constructing the cities competitiveness index system, we use the factor analysis and spatial interpolation methods in order to reveal the spatial pattern of cities competitiveness and the evolution rules. The results show that:(1)The standard deviation of comprehensive competitiveness of cities in UAMRYR assumes to expand, and the relative differences show a trend of wavelike decrease. The spatial patterns present three core-periphery plates structure on the whole and the intra-plate differentiation is obvious, as well as the temporal evolution shows a character of global stability, accompanied with local variation. (2)The spatial distribution of cities competitiveness in UAMRYR is relatively uniform and well-regulated, but the internal structures of cities competitiveness in three core-periphery plates are profoundly dif-ferent.(3)Each principal factor of comprehensive competitiveness of cities has a dramatic spatial variation. Only city size and economic strength patterns cou-ples well with comprehensive cities competitiveness. The track of the first and third principal factor gravity center moving toward geometric center, the rest of factors showing a strong deviation tendency.
