This article reviews how standardized patient was introduced and how it ’s gradually accepted and developed in medical education .It also describes its application and growing trend in China ,ai-ming to explore a more feasible Chinese SP teaching approach and offer reference for competence as-sessment in any profession in w hich the objectives are to assess an individual ’s interpersonal skill as well as his or her technical performance .
