“搽”字，宋以前字书鲜见其迹，其用例多见于宋及以后禅籍、元曲、明清小说等口语性较强的文献。从语源的角度对“搽”字来龙去脉作出考释，指出“搽”实际上是“塗”的讹俗字，“塗”是其语源。
“차”자，송이전자서선견기적，기용례다견우송급이후선적、원곡、명청소설등구어성교강적문헌。종어원적각도대“차”자래룡거맥작출고석，지출“차”실제상시“도”적와속자，“도”시기어원。
Chinese character“搽”can be hardly found before Song Dynasty. But since Song, it is often used in works of colloquial styles, such as Zen books, Yuan verse, and fictions of the Ming and Qing dynasties. And“搽”is studied here from etymological approach. It is found that“塗”is the origin of“搽”and the latter is a misprint of the former.
