沧谷5号是沧州市农林科学院经过多年连续定向选择培育的夏谷新品种,其杂交组合为济8787×水2,2013年12月通过了国家谷子品种鉴定委员会鉴定(鉴定编号:国鉴谷2013014)。2012~2013年国家夏谷品种区域试验,平均产量为4828.5 kg /hm2,较对照增产4.6%,其中试点最高增产率为24.3%;区域适应度平均为76.2%,其中2013年高达90.0%。2013年国家夏谷品种生产试验,平均产量为4945.5 kg /hm2,较对照增产8.9%;区域适应度为85.7%。沧谷5号不仅具有高产潜力,稳产性好,而且耐涝性突出,抗谷瘟病,白发病和线虫病的发病率低于对照,并在第十届全国优质食用粟评选中被评为二级优质米。

Canggu No.5 is a new summer foxtail millet cultivar developed by means of consecutive selection for several years by Cangzhou Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, the hybrid combination is Ji 8787 ×Shui 2, it was identified as a new cultivar by the National New Foxtail Millet Cultivar Appraisal Committee in December of 2013 (Identification number was Guojiangu 2013014) .In the national summer millet variety regional test in 2012 -2013, the mean yield of Canggu No.5 was 4 828.5 kg /hm2 , 4.6% over the control cultivar Jigu 19 and with 24.3% of the highest yield increase rate.The mean adaptability of Canggu No.5 was 76.2% and reached 90.0% in 2013.In the national summer millet variety production test in 2013, the mean yield of Canggu No.5 (4 945.5 kg /hm2 ) was higher than that of Jigu 19 by 8.9%, and the adaptability was 85.7%.Canggu No.5 has not only high and stable yielding potential, but also tolerance to flooding and resistant to millet blast.The incidence of downy mildew and nematode of Canggu No.5 was lighter than that of Jigu 19.Canggu No.5 received the second high quality millet in the 10th national high quality edible millet evaluation.
