针对通用处理器在数字信号处理应用中如何充分发挥多核性能的问题,提出了对称多处理( Symmetrical Multi-Processing, SMP)的解决方案。以PowerPc作为硬件平台,对多核技术进行研究,分别采用单处理( Uniprocessor, UP)和SMP实现了有限冲击响应(Finite Impulse Response, FIR)滤波器的设计,并利用Matlab验证了设计的正确性。通过VxWorks6?7的系统观察工具,分别测试了任务在单核和多核处理器上的运行状态和执行效率,并定量分析了二者的性能差异。实验结果表明,通过合理的共享数据超标量设计和互斥/同步机制,多核性能较单核有显著提升。

Aiming at the problem of how to improve the multi-core performance of general-purpose processors used in digital signal processing,the Symmetrical Multi-Processing(SMP)solution is proposed.The multi-core technology is studied based on PowerPc hardware platform,Uni-Processor(UP)and SMP are used to achieve the design of Finite Impulse Response(FIR)filter,and Matlab is used to verify the correctness of the design.By the System Viewer in VxWorks6.7,the operating status and implementation efficiency of tasks on the single and multi-core processors are tested respectively, and quantitative analysis of the performance difference between them is made. The experimental results show that by the reasonable shared data superscalar design and mutex/synchronization mechanism,the multi-core performance has significantly improved compared with single-core.
