高校图书馆内部环境的舒适要比外部造型更加重要。西安石油大学新校区图书馆室内环境建设从色彩、家具、服务设施、室内装饰物、室内绿化等方面进行了有益的实践探索。要营造一个宁静、优美、舒适的图书馆环境，需要在五个方面做好，即决策层高度重视、人性化建设理念、专业化整体设计、新老馆整合衔接、精细化细节处理。
