The design and implementation of a vehicle-mounted central control computer are introduced in this paper. Based on the function demands of its central control and management,and the reliability requirement of the vehicle-mounted sys-tem applied in severe environment,the electrical and structural framework design of the whole system is discussed. The key points of design of main circuit boards such as embedded CPCI computing board,KVM switching board,gigabit network switch-ing board and multi-serial-port expanding board are elaborated. Some measures of structural strengthening,vibration reduction and heat dissipation for the computer are proposed. The central control computer has high processing capability,convenient oper-ation,abundant expanding interfaces and high reliability. The design method can be used as a reference for design of similar central control computers.
