Following the emergence of computer and network information technology in the 21st century,new media has stepped up into a new period of leaping forward development. This causes great changes in contents and forms, communication means,profit models,and market entities in the publication industry. Besides,it has brought new problems and challenges to the development of sci-technical periodicals. In the paper,it was proposed that sci-technical periodicals in China should follow the trend of networking and digitalization and bear in mind the responsi-bilities of scholarly communication and advanced science and culture promotion to explore ways that are suitable for their own development.
