Hydraulic jump with low Froude number is usually formed at downstream of a discharge structure with low water head in irrigation area. The stilling basin is usually built at downstream of the discharge structure for flow energy dissipation, and the reasonable length as well as dissipation effects is closely dependent on the length of the hydraulic jump with low Froude num-ber. According to results of previous studies and on the basis of engineering cases, theoretical analysis and generalized model test research, various formulas used in calculation of hydraulic jump length with low Froude number, especially Ole Fertoski Formula and Chen Chunting Formula, are studied by analogy, and the coefficients of the later formula is modified and validated. Through analysis on the theoretical calculation and experimental results, it is concluded that even for the same formula of hydraulic jump length, the relationships of length of hydraulic jump, low Froude number before the jump and conjugate depths are not completely same.
