民国时期中学国史教科书对于甲午战争的叙述,经历了不断全面、深化的过程。通过研读、比勘相关内容可以看出,民国时期不同阶段的中学国史教科书对甲午战争爆发的原因、战争过程、战败原因以及战争影响等方面的叙述,均存在较大的差异。普通国民从学校教育中所接受的其实是一个不断变化的“甲午战争”。之所以如此,既与民国时期时局变动有关,也与史学研究进展及教科书编写日渐成熟、规范密切相关。

The narrative about Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895 in the national history textbooks of middle school during the period of Republic of China experienced a continuously process of improvement and deepening.We can see a great difference between the different narratives about the reason for the outbreak of the war, the process, the reason for losing and the effects of the war in the national history textbooks of middle school at different stages during the Republic of China.Actually, Common people accepted a changing “Sino-Japanese War” from history textbooks. The reason is not only related with the changing situation in Republic of China, but also with the improving of history research and textbook writing which became more and more mature and normative.
