Objective To explore the correlation of ROCK1 in elderly COPD patients complicated with pul-monary arterial hypertension. Methods The clinical data of COPD patients from Jan 2012 to Jun 2013 were collect-ed. 38 COPD patients complicated with pulmonary arterial hypertension were selected as the observation group, and 40 COPD patients without pulmonary arterial hypertension were taken as the control group. Results The mean val-ues of mean pulmonary arterial pressure, ROCK1 in blood and monocytes, TNF-αand CRP in the observation group were significant higher than those in the control group (P<0. 001). In the observation group, there was a positive correlation between the blood ROCK1 and the pulmonary arterial pressure (r=0. 624, P<0. 001) and a positive cor-relation between the monocytes ROCK1 and the pulmonary arterial pressure (r=0. 459, P=0. 004). Conclusion The expression of ROCK1 in blood and monocytes increases in COPD patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension, and there is a positive correlation between ROCK1 and pulmonary arterial pressure. ROCK1 may be a new target to prevent COPD developing into pulmonary arterial hypertension.
