通过梳理“象”与“象思维”的哲学渊源和理论内涵，从方法学视角考察其在中国传统武术发生、发展中的作用。研究认为，象思维既是中国传统文化形成的源头，也是中国传统武术理论立论和发展的基石。“观物取象，借象演绎，象形取意，寓形于法”的象思维方法，不仅奠定了中国武术拳理、拳法形成的基础，且贯穿于中国武术发展的始终，对中国武术理论的形成和发展起到了巨大的推动作用。

This paper analyzes the philosophical origins and theoretical connotation of pictograph and pictographic thought ,and investigates its roles in occurrence and development of Chinese traditional martial arts from the methodological perspective .It suggested that pictographic thought was both the source of Chinese traditional culture and the cornerstone in generation and development of the theory of traditional Chinese martial arts .“Acquired concept from ob-ject ,deduced and imaged from concept ,put the concept into the law” ,as an thinking method of pictographic thought ,not only laid the foundation for the formation of theories and methods of the Chinese martial arts ,but also promoted the development of Chinese martial arts all the way ,and played an important role in formation and development of the theory of Chinese mar-tial arts .
