由于前列腺的生理结构特征，单一的药物治疗效果不理想，临床上多采用综合疗法。本文采用中西结合用药治疗老年前列腺炎取得了很好的临床疗效。中药辩证施治与抗生素的巧妙结合治疗前列腺炎不易复发，且中药具有清热利湿通淋、祛湿、清热解毒、活血化瘀通络等功效；中西结合用药即能抗感染又能消除病毒，有效地解决患者前列腺充血、瘀积、排泄不通畅等症状，同时还可以消炎止痛，能改进精子的质量，提高患者的生育力。
