静坐一词起源于儒释道文化，是一种简单有效的身心调节活动方式，作为养生修行的方式已经有2000多年的历史。从文化、哲学与科学的角度探讨超觉静坐的历史文化渊源、分类与习练方式、对高血压和心血管的影响，探讨防治其作用机制，期待在继承中创新，将古老的运动养生疗法赋予崭新的理论意义，进而指导其临床医学实践与研究。

In this study, mechanisms of transcendental meditation on hypertension and cardiovascular protective effects were discussed from the view of culture, philosophy and medicine. We look forward to achieving innovation in succession, giving a new theoretical approach to this ancient exercise-health care mode, and then guiding the clinical practice and research.
