高血压病是心脑血管病的重要危险因素之一，高血压前期是高血压病的“潜伏期”，若任其发展心脑血管事件发生率将大大增加，严重危害人类健康，因此关注高血压前期是防治高血压病关键所在。但目前学术界尚无普遍认可的早期干预方法。通过对高血压前期的概念和危害的阐述，并浅析针刺干预高血压前期的优势，认为针刺作为重要的中医外治法在高血压前期的治疗方面具有不良反应少，易于接受，适于个性化治疗，且可双向良性调节，降压幅度适中等独特优势。

Prehypertension is an important risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Without any treatment it will lead to higher rate of hypertension and risk of damage of target organ. In a word, it is badly harmful to human’s health. So far, academia fails to find a widely accepted way to intervene in prehypertension. As a external treatment of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), acupuncture has its inimitable advantages in the treatment of prehypertension. Prehypertension is the incubation of hypertension, without any treatment it will leads to higher rate of hypertension and risk of damage of target organ. In a word, it is badly harmful to human’s health. So far, academia fails to find a widely accepted way to intervene in prehypertension. This study explains the concept and harm of prehypertension, then shows the advantage of treatment for prehypertension by acupuncture. In a word, as a external treatment of TCM, acupuncture has its inimitable advantages in the treatment of prehypertension, such as more acceptable, and individual-based treatment.
