The axial compression experiments on two groups of concrete short columns with ordinary-strength stirrups and high-strength stirrups are carried out. Damage process and their morphology of concrete columns confined with high-strength stirrups are studied, and the influence of stirrup strength on axial compression performances of the concrete short columns and relevance mechanism are analyzed.
