文章结合目前病原生物学课程在医科院校基础医学教学中与其他学科课程的设置关系以及自身课程内容编排的现状，分析病原生物学课程设置和教学内容编排存在的问题，建议将病原生物学放在所有基础医学课程之后进行授课，同时在章节编排中注意微生物学与寄生虫学的内容整合，并加入医院感染相关内容。
