八十年来，云南盐业史研究经历了三个重要发展时期，不同时期有其研究的重点和特点。就研究内容而言，不同时期既有继承，又有拓展。就研究方法而言，虽较单一，但也有创新。就学术队伍而言，力量有所扩大，但未能形成团队优势，不利于开展规模化研究。从纵向来看，八十年来滇盐研究有了较大进步，研究视角呈现出了多元化特点。从横向比较来看，不足也很明显。这些不足必将成为下一步滇盐研究突破的主要方向和重点。

팔십년래，운남염업사연구경력료삼개중요발전시기，불동시기유기연구적중점화특점。취연구내용이언，불동시기기유계승，우유탁전。취연구방법이언，수교단일，단야유창신。취학술대오이언，역량유소확대，단미능형성단대우세，불리우개전규모화연구。종종향래간，팔십년래전염연구유료교대진보，연구시각정현출료다원화특점。종횡향비교래간，불족야흔명현。저사불족필장성위하일보전염연구돌파적주요방향화중점。
In the past eighty years, research of Yunnan salt industry history has gone through three phases. Each phase has its own focus and feature. For the research content, from some inherited features it has developed new characteristics;for the method, it has been innovated, though simple;for the researchers, the number has increased but is not large enough to form a team advantage to carry out large scale research. Diachronically, it has made great progress, with diverse perspectives. However, compared with other studies of the same kind, the deficiencies are evident, which will be the direction and focus of further study.
