The cutting stability of five-axis NC machining center is one of the important factors which affect the cutting efficiency. The process of cutting stability prediction is introduced, and its research results at home and abroad are summarized. In addition, the methods of modeling cutting forces and identifying cutting force coefficients are elaborated. Moreover, the stability simulation meth-ods are summarized. The shortcoming of the cutting stability study is analyzed. At the same time, the future development direction of the cutting stability analysis is put forward.
