“化身复活”就是人死亡后物化为其它自然物使生命得以重生和延续，云南少数民族此类母题的产生深受中原文化同类题材的影响。通过原生态的表现形式和强烈的悲剧性，抒写普通人命运和情感的苦难，折射下层人民的不幸遭遇。在强大的世俗权力面前，主人公的反抗和斗争充满了无奈和凄楚，悲苦的命运和找不到出路的彷徨让主人公付出了生命的代价。而悲剧主人公死亡后的“复活”，是善恶得报文化心理的体现，它有效地缓解了人类关于生与死、今生与来世、天堂与地狱诸问题的困惑和疑虑。
