无人机的应用不仅可以降低人工作业量，而且有利于对农田进行实时监控，防止病虫害及农田养分缺失、过量等现象的发生，从而提高农作物产量。长久以来，农业始终面临着病虫害及人施肥不合理等不良因素的影响，轻则危及农田产量及食品安全，重则对农业耕种者造成伤害。无人机配合遥感系统的联合作业，为农业信息化道路开辟了一个实际、准确的方向。根据无人机性能的不同，无人机遥感监测可以对农田进行大面积的航空监测及小范围定点监测，并可对问题发生位置进行准确的问题排查、解决。其主要目的是帮助农田管理者了解农田、节约成本，改变从前广施肥、多撒药的粗犷作业方式，达到精准作业的目的，真正完成从传统农业向精细农业的转型。
