自20世纪90年代起,构建终身教育体系、建设学习型社会已成为我国的一项重要教育政策,且作为我国教育发展的重要战略目标写入党的十七大、十八大报告,并在全国多地展开了各具地方特色的政策实践。对北京市终身教育政策实践的分析表明,未来我国终身教育的发展方向是:推动终身教育立法,整合资源打通教育渠道,开展终身教育政策的分类试点与分步推广。

Constructing lifelong education system and the learning society has become an important education policy in China since the 1990s, which was written in CPC's 17th and 18th report as an important strategic goal of education development. Many cities all round the country have carried out lifelong education policy with local characteristics. Therefore, it’s of great importance that reviewing and analyzing lifelong education policy in more developed regions, such as Beijing, summarizing its successful experiences show that, the development direction of lifelong education in China is: boost the legislation of lifelong education, integrate resources and deploy classification and popularization of lifelong education policies.
