Advances on preparing methods and functional modification of branched and hyperbranched polyethylene were reviewed. Progress of post-transition metal catalysts were used in ethylene polymerization to produce hyperbranched polyethylene by chain-walking mechanism were introduced highlight. The application of functional hyperbranched polyethylene were reviewed. Prospects of branched and hyperbranched polyethylene were outlooked.
