自古以来，广西交通以水运为主，直到近代亦是如此。水运业在近代广西社会经济发展过程中扮演着重要角色。然纵观整个近代，广西民族航运业始终未见有蓬勃发展的态势，究其原因，近代广西民族航运业存在着海关自主权丧失、地方政府“维权”意识不足、近代广西交通落后和兵匪危害四个限制因素。
자고이래，엄서교통이수운위주，직도근대역시여차。수운업재근대엄서사회경제발전과정중분연착중요각색。연종관정개근대，엄서민족항운업시종미견유봉발발전적태세，구기원인，근대엄서민족항운업존재착해관자주권상실、지방정부“유권”의식불족、근대엄서교통락후화병비위해사개한제인소。
Since the ancient times,waterway transport was the main transporting mode in Guangxi and it is the same case even with the modern times.The waterway transport industry played an important role in the economic development of Guangxi. However, booming trend was never seen in Guangxi’ s national shipping industry during the modern times. This was caused by the following four restrictive factors: the loss of customs autonomy, the absence of protection consciousness of the local government, the underdeveloped traffic and the harm of war and bandit during Guangxi’ modern times.
