The relationship between leakproofness and energy conservation of open baking furnace was discussed in this paper. And the open baking furnace in Hebei Suncheon Electrode Co.Ltd., was sealed in a reasonable way. Finally, the percentage of resid-ual oxygen in flue gas reduced from 20%to 18%. According to the calorie of heat taken away by flue gas, 1 662 m3 natural gas was saved per day.
