天人之学认为天地是人的本原，人与万物具有平等的存在意义，人的存在与物的存在构成相为相济的整体。人既利用万物又当保持自我节制，万物于人不只有实用价值，更有审美与道德上的意义。顺应自然作为处理人与自然关系的根本原则，主张在理解和尊重物之自然的前提下，人力的施为与物的存在特性和发展方向内在一致，顺物之自然性而为且不突破物所能容受的限度，人力顺应自然力以实现自己的目的。放纵人欲会过度耗损自然资源，伤害人的生命，败坏人的德性，造成社会纷争。凡此对于生态文明建设的启示在于，人当尊重、敬畏自然，扬弃与万物单纯的实用关系，恢复与物的全面丰富的关系，顺应自然而为，而节制物欲对于生态文明建设具有釜底抽薪的意义。

천인지학인위천지시인적본원，인여만물구유평등적존재의의，인적존재여물적존재구성상위상제적정체。인기이용만물우당보지자아절제，만물우인불지유실용개치，경유심미여도덕상적의의。순응자연작위처리인여자연관계적근본원칙，주장재리해화존중물지자연적전제하，인력적시위여물적존재특성화발전방향내재일치，순물지자연성이위차불돌파물소능용수적한도，인력순응자연력이실현자기적목적。방종인욕회과도모손자연자원，상해인적생명，패배인적덕성，조성사회분쟁。범차대우생태문명건설적계시재우，인당존중、경외자연，양기여만물단순적실용관계，회복여물적전면봉부적관계，순응자연이위，이절제물욕대우생태문명건설구유부저추신적의의。
The Heaven-Man Theory regards the Heaven and Earth as the origin of Man,and Man and all natural beings are equal in view of existence,which constitutes an organic whole of the two parts.Man should keep self-restraint in the process of consuming the natural beings,for everything has not only practical value, but also aesthetic and moral meaning.To be harmonious with Nature is the fundamental principle in dealing with the relationship between Man and Nature.Under the premise of understanding and respecting for all the things in Nature,Man’s behavior should always be consistent with the characteristics and development of natural things. Man should comply himself with the naturality of everything in Nature and never go beyond the limits that all the things in Nature can tolerate.Man can achieve his purpose only by restraining himself within the limits.Once Man breaks through these limits,the natural resources will be excessively consumed,human lives will be harmed,Man's morality will be ruined,and social conflicts will be touched off.Hence,the enlightenment of the construction of ecological civilization is that Man should respect and revere Nature,discard the pure utilitarian relationship with all the other beings in Nature,restore the rich and comprehensive relationship with them,be harmonious with Nature,and restrain his excessive material desires.
