The most important part of marine power distribution system is main switchboard, and its key part is main bus-bar, which affects safety and reliability of the power distribution system. This paper describes the design method of the main bus-bar of marine main switchboard, mainly including its selection and veriifcation and analysis of its thermal and dynamic stability combined with calculation of short circuit current. It also proposes the relevant veriifcation calculation equations and introduces the practical application of a case of design of main switchboard with three rectangular copper bus-bar installed in parallel.
