Based on the survey and design of overseas highway project,the paper discussed the characteristics of the survey and design work and how to do the work for overseas highway project from contracting model,position of design,management of the owner,design process,design codes and the ap-proval of design documents,which can offer reference for the survey and design of similar overseas engi-neering in the future.
