高等教育元评估，其重要性已成为各国共识，而在我国，作为一项新的研究课题，对它的研究还处在引介和借鉴的初级阶段。鉴于此，文章以我国高等教育评估工作面临的问题为背景，从元评估研究的现实和理论迫切性出发，论证了元评估研究在我国高等教育中的重要作用，即它能够提升评估结果可信度，实现评估的改进目的；它有助于监控教育评估过程，优化教育资源的配置；它利于完善高等教育评估体系，促进教育评估专业化。

The importance of higher education meta evaluation has become the con-sensus all over the world,but in our country,as a new research subject,it is still at the primary stage of the introduction and reference. In view of this ,based on the background of Chinese higher education evaluation work ,this paper demonstrates the important role of the meta evaluation in the higher education of China from the viewpoint of the meta eval-uation theory and reality urgency. Therefore ,the research of meta evaluation can improve the reliability of the evaluation results and the objective evaluation, control the education evaluation process,optimize the allocation of educational resources,improve the higher edu-cation evaluation system and promote the specialization of educational evaluation.
