乌东德水电站位于我国西南地震活跃地区,库区地形陡峭,断裂构造发育,地层岩性复杂,建库后水库诱发地震将是该工程的重要工程地质问题。为了研究乌东德库区天然地震活动本底特征,以在坝址至皎平渡约50 km的库段内建立的临时地震监测台网监测资料,并结合乌东德库区及周缘地区历史地震资料和1965年以来国家地震部门的仪测地震资料,对乌东德库区地震活动本底特征进行了深入研究。结果表明,乌东德库区为中强地震活动区,区内地震活动以微震为主,最大地震为63/4级。研究成果可为乌东德水库诱发地震预测和建库后水库地震判别提供依据。

Wudongde Hydropower Station is located in seismic active zone in southwestern China. The terrain in the reservoir area is steep, where faults and structure are developed and the lithology is complicated. The reservoir-induced earthquake is an important engineering geological problem. In order to understand the natural seismic background characteristics in Wudongde Reservoir area, the temporary seismic network covering 50 km in the reservoir area from Jiaopingdu to the dam site was estab-lished. On the basis of the historical earthquake data in the reservoir area and nearby regions, observed data by seismographs since 1965, the seismic background characteristics is further studied. The results show that Wudongde Reservoir area is a seismic moderate area, mostly microseism with the maximum magnitude of 6. 75 and provide basis for forecast and discriminant of reser-voir-induced earthquake after reservoir impoundment.
