In the excavation of Yuwangling tunnel, the tuff and the rhyolite appeared in turns with weak inter-layers. The main structure is of random distribution and the joints fissures developed densely which are threatening the security for the construction. Three kinds of methods-TSP, the ground penetra- ting radar and the infrared water detector, were applied in the comprehensive geological prediction achieving a good predict- ion efect.
