This paper discussed the mechanism of air entrai- ning agent, focusing on the ability against press of concrete, durability and the solubility and air volume of new stirred concrete affected by air entraining agent. Through the expe- riment, the air entraining agent was applied to the pile cap of huge Ziya River Bridge between the railway from Tianjin to Baoding and the author pointed out the air entraining agent is a necessary admixture to concrete of high performance.
