慢性肾脏病是一个严重的社会经济问题。数据显示，我国终末期肾脏病的发生率逐年上升，对于医疗卫生事业形成巨大挑战。笔者提出“围透析期”这一概念，针对这一人群，进行早期诊断、患者教育、饮食指导、心理干预、肾替代治疗方式及时机的选择等综合性治疗，可以显著改善围透析期患者的预后。

In China, advanced chronic kidney disease is one of the major socio-economic problems. Data shows that the morbility of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) increased year by year, and the pressures to provide quality care are continuing and more and more chal enging. The authors put forward the concept of" peri-dialysis" , hoping at an early stage to identify this population, provide patient education, modify diet, predict the time when renal replacement therapy (RRT) wil need to be initiated, and make choice about the mode of RRT. It appears that earlier specialty referral offers many opportunities for improving the care of peri-dialysis patients, which could have a marked impact on overal treatment outcomes.
